Dental Implants

About implants

A dental implant is a titanium anchor, made of a biocompatible material, that naturally bonds to the existing bone structure. It can be positioned in the upper or lower part of the jaw. After a recovery phase, it functions similarly to a natural tooth root. This helps stimulate the bone structure, maintaining the jaw’s volume and integrity. Dental implants can replace one or several teeth, or even an entire set of teeth. They are natural-looking and closely resemble your natural dentition, helping you feel as if they are your own teeth. Frequently asked questions

Dental implants are a long-lasting, natural-feeling solution for missing teeth. Acting like artificial tooth roots, they help keep your jawbone healthy by preventing bone loss over time. Implants also give you stronger chewing power than traditional dentures, so you can enjoy your favourite foods again—without worry or discomfort.

Dental implants may be an excellent option if you’ve lost teeth due to injury, disease, or decay— or if you’re unhappy with loose or uncomfortable dentures.

Dr. Dagher will review your medical and dental history, overall health, and jawbone density to determine if implants are right for you. Healthy jawbone is important because the implant needs to be placed securely in the bone.

If you’re healthy enough for a tooth extraction or other routine oral surgery, you’re often a good candidate for dental implants.

Your comfort is our priority. During your implant procedure, Dr. Dagher will numb the area to ensure you don’t feel pain. For anxious patients, we also offer IV sedation tailored to you.

With today’s advanced techniques and sedation options, dental implants are more comfortable and have quicker recovery times than ever before. Most patients experience only mild discomfort afterward, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

For the first couple of weeks, we recommend a soft diet to protect the healing area. Most people are able to return to their normal eating habits—and smiling with confidence—within a few weeks.

Because dental implants are completed over multiple visits, we provide temporary teeth right

away so you can speak, eat, and smile comfortably during the process. You will never leave without teeth.

  1. Placing the implant: Dr. Dagher will gently place a small titanium post into your jawbone beneath the gum. Titanium is safe and biocompatible, allowing it to naturally bond with your bone during healing.
  1. Healing period: This bonding process can take 3–9 months. During this time, we’ll guide you on how to care for your mouth to ensure the best results.
  1. Attaching your new tooth: Once healed, Dr. Dagher will secure a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture to the implant, completing your new smile.

Your dental implant will function like a natural tooth root, helping keep your jawbone strong and your smile looking healthy for years to come.

Consequences of not replacing teeth

When missing teeth aren’t replaced, the effects go beyond just the gap in your smile. Over time, the surrounding teeth can shift out of place, affecting your bite and making it harder to chew or speak clearly. The jawbone in the empty space will also begin to shrink without the stimulation that comes from chewing, which can change the shape of your face and make you look older. These changes can impact your oral health, your confidence, and your overall quality of life— making it important to consider timely tooth replacement options.

Teeth in a day

We understand that the thought of having missing teeth during your treatment can be worrying. With our dental implant process, you will never leave without teeth. On the same day your implants are placed, we provide temporary teeth that look natural and allow you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

These temporary teeth support you throughout the healing process and ensure you feel comfortable and confident while your permanent implants are being crafted—so you can start enjoying your new smile immediately.
